Winter Shoes

“Shoes” you need this winter!

“From the story of Cinderella to that of Carrie Bradshaw, shoes have always been the hero.”

They are a defining factor of your personal style; they can make you feel like a ‘Diva’, make an old outfit look new, give an instant boost to your mood and your self-esteem, And that’s just the beginning.

Onset of winters, and we all are super excited about our boots and the irresistible shoes. This is one time of the year when celebrations are in abundance, be it festivals or be it weddings, and our shoes need to make a fashion statement!!

Here are some of the shoes, we definitely must add to our ‘shoe closet’!!

The shoes I am talking about, don’t have to be the same brand or of the same company. I am talking about the colors, the styles and how to wear them. Look around in your city, in the shopping areas, and you will find something similar. As I have always said, looking good doesn’t have to be an expensive affair!! If your pocket allows you, please go to the high end stores..

KNEE HIGH BOOTS

These boots are a must have. You can wear them with jeans, with dresses, with skirts and with gowns.

The boots in the picture have no heels, but go ahead and get them with heels. They look fabulous, add the oomph factor and keep you warm.

Sweatshirt from Zara; Jeans from Marks and Spencer, Bag from Calounge; Sunglasses from MIUMIU; black boots from a flea market in New York.

A black chiffon dress; a Jamawar shawl; glasses from Givenchy; black boots

Black dress from Latin Quarters; glasses from Versace; black boots

Silk dress; MIUMIU glasses; black boots

Colors:  You definitely need a black as you will get maximum wear out of it. Also black, worn with other colors, makes your legs look longer. Black worn with black will always make you look leaner. It can be worn with almost everything and you could totally do without getting yourself knee high boots in a different color. But, if one wants variety, get a shade og brown and that should be good!!

ANKLE LENGTH BOOTS

Ankle boots again go beautifully with most things. Wear them with skirts, dresses,  jeans or trousers. They are also good as formal wear and party wear..

Boots from The Shoe Factory; skirt from Marks and Spencer; off white sweater from Westside; Gold Jacket from Only.

I love these off white boots from the shoe factory, Switzerland. They go so well with almost every color and every attire. This is a must have for the winters

Other ‘Knee high boots’ I recommend are:

These high heel black ankle boots from Zara, with silver metallic studs are graceful, yet call out to your wild & carefree side

Red leather ankle boots are from Zara. Wear them with black, white, blues and they are head turners. (Just don’t wear them with green) Don’t over accessories and don’t wear too many contrasting colors.  It will take the attention away from the shoes.

These are silver block heel leather shoes that I picked up from a small shoe shop in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi. They are a must have for every girl.  Wear them with black or silver accessories.  Don’t contrast them with gold and don’t overdo with too many colors. Keep your attire simple and preferably in a single color. If you are wearing trousers or skirts, keep either the top or the bottom a neutral color.

These gold metallic boots from Zara is a head turner. Wear with almost any color and any style, they will stand out. Don’t wear anything flowing and long with it as it would hide the textured look and whole gold impact would be lost. Wear them tapered jeans or trousers, medium length dresses or skirts, even calf length loose pants would look good with it.

GOLD LOAFERS

My favorite combination with these boots is with denims, black scarf, gold earrings, black top, gold jacket and these gold boots. This has never failed to win me compliments.

I love gold shoes and I feel everyone must have these gold loafers. I picked them up from Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi.

Some of my other favorite “loafers” are:

Platform fringed loafers from Zara

Striped Court Shoes from ZARA

Black metal studded loafers from Sandro

Now go ahead and get your ‘Winter Shoe Wardrobe’ ready and be as stylish as you can!!
