Jumpsuits – Always so stylish

Dressed in a jumpsuit, you are bound to make a style statement.
Look modern and retro at the same time.
This is certainly a trend that comes with the best of all fashion styles. Its comfortable, its stylish, it has multiple variations, comes in all sorts of fabrics, can be worn for almost every occasion (just needs to be styled differently) and while you could pair them with heels to walk the red carpet, you can also swap the heels with sneakers and cycle back home.
Now where will you get this versatility ? 😉
But despite all the awesome things I just wrote about jumpsuits, there are so many of us you stay away from this trend.
Why?
Well, the answer is, it needs just a tad bit of work. The wrong pairing of shoes and accessories and the wrong fit can be a big disaster. I read somewhere, “fashion hero to fashion zero”.  Yes, that’s what happens if it’s not paired well.
So here, let me give you a few tips and you will never go wrong with this trend.
  • Decide if it’s a formal wear or casual wear.
  • Fabric should be weather appropriate. Don’t wear cotton or chiffon in winters and satin and silk in summers. It’s just not right.
  • Decide on the jumpsuit length and sleeve length.
  • Always choose the fabric, length and style you are comfortable with. No matter how great everything is, if you are uncomfortable, the whole purpose if dressing up is lost.
  • Choose the fit according to your height. If you are tall, wear a wide legged jumpsuit that reaches your ankles. If you are not very tall, choose a little fitted style that end above your ankles. This adds height and all slims down the silhouette.
  • Match a solid colour jumpsuit with metallic belt and accessories, or go for a printed one with high heels and matching bag.
  • A two tone jumpsuit cuts the body in two parts giving it slimmer impact.
  • Wear high heels with wider jumpsuits.
  • For a formal occasion, choose a well-tailored style and a heavier fabric. This always sits well. Match simple and elegant accessories accordingly. Pair them with high heels (totally optional).
  • For a casual look, wear a loose fitted and comfortable jumpsuit. Pair them with sneakers or open sandals or platforms, whatever you are comfortable in.
  • For a casual look, wear a loose fitted and comfortable jumpsuit. Pair them with sneakers or open sandals or platforms, whatever you are comfortable in.
  • Wear a belt if you want to highlight the waist.
  • Don’t overdo an accessory. Just enough to break the monotony, especially if it already has a busy print.

Hope you find this helpful and hope you enjoyed reading it!
